1 cup Epsom salt
2 cups baking soda
1 cup citric acid
extra-virgin olive oil
1 tbsp cocoa butter
Essential oil of choice
Food coloring (optional)
Distilled water, as needed
A spray/mister bottle
In a large bowl mix together all dry ingredients. Heat and melt the cocoa butter with the extra-virgin olive oil and the essential oil and coloring then add them to the dry ingredients.
You add water by using the spraying bottle. To much water and the reaction will start and it will fizz. So spray and mix and spray and mix. Use as little water as possible. If the mixture starts to react , mix variously with the dry ingredients.
Your finished mixture should have the consistency of slightly damp sand and should squish in your hands without crumbling (if it doesn’t, add more wet or dry ingredients as needed).
Place this mixture in molds and allow to dry completely. You can use a cut-open tennis ball, a plastic Easter egg or even a measuring cup (to scoop out your mixture and put the balls on wax paper to dry.
Store in a sealed, cool place away from all moisture. And use within a month.
